Rhyl to host 2015 World Book Day tour event

Post by Keith » 4 years ago

RHYL is set to host a national literary event next year.

The Biggest Book Show on Earth, organised by World Book Day, will be moving around a number of cities all over the UK and will come to the town on February 25.

On Monday, November 17, organisers revealed the live tour line-up for the show, and said that this time it will be bigger than ever, featuring over 40 top authors and illustrators.

Each stop on the tour will give local children a chance to enjoy seeing up to six of their favourite authors and illustrators, including Steven Butler, Jonny Duddle, Jon Mayhew, Shoo Rayner and Heather Dyer.

Angharad Wyn Tomos, reading promotions project manager at the Welsh Books Council, said: “We are so excited to be a part of The Biggest Book Show on Earth tour again this year and are pleased to be able to provide such an inspirational experience for the children of Rhyl and the surrounding areas.

“With a fantastic line-up of authors and illustrators, it is certain to be a wonderful day, full of the joys of books and reading.

“What better way to start off our World Book Day celebrations!”

The event will run between 23 February and 6 March, visiting regions all over the UK and Ireland, including Bath, Glasgow and Dublin, before landing in Rhyl on 25 February.
