Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

I suppose it must all look a bit negative to a new owner but its what happens after a few years....Inevitably everyone has a gripe here and there. But the forum comes into its own when new owners ask for advice and help from bedding to really complicated stuff about boilers!!! So come on any newbies....post away!!

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

But Keith, I have said many times myself what a shame it is that people join the forum, receive a Welcome message, and never post again?! And how could this be encouraged. Its good that this new owner feels they have had their questions anwered and it would have been good to hear exactly what had been addressed, surely? By its nature a forum is going to have mixed views. But all are just as welcomed are they not?

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

To be honest, I dont even understand why the Sun holiday prices reply included the undertakign for next year? Mash and Barrel? Its just another venue to go and spend money!! Why would you need a pass? The simple answer to the question was 'Because its a promotion to fill the park'.

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

So frustrating that time was taken up with subjects already well aware of, and discussed endlessly - mattress protectors?! Cold pools are cold pools...nobody complains needlessly and lots of words about Health an Safety dont mean a thing when you're in a cold pool! It happens.....Noise? How hard is it to implment a park wide system for checking decibels that dont cause kids to have their hands over their ears? Even this weekend people left a venue after 20 mins.....you just cant be bothered in the end. Owner referral system? I dont remember seeing this put down as a question......its clearly explained already?. Dual pricing system? Its already in place with the 15% discount......Sorry Keith but I really do think the questions should have been edited.

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

I understand what you are saying Keith.....but with the greatest respect, Im just not sure that taking the time to write, is enough criteria for a point being raised? Name badges for instance? Im a bit dodgy sightwise myslf but find them perfectly easy to read... As previously mentioned, pools opening in the closed season is a waste of time, when you think they cant even get the temperature right in the open season?

Its just about maintaining credibility, and/or the number of people who raised the same question must surely come into play?

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

Just to elaborate....I remember the paper billing argument but cant remember what it was about....I dont think it was literally paper, as much as being forewarned before funds were deducted. So Im sure online forewarning would do as well, so that everyone remains happy? BL (like tax, phones, utilities) are embracing online so we might as well go with it.

Yes I had a webste bill almost immediately - shame about the other park news, events, etc., not being so speedy.

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

Hi Chris and Wendy - just about the owners Website.....someone asked me if the Leeds Rugby Match was on our Lakeside venue. I looked on events, news, your park, sport and leisure......didnt even know where to begin to look for it......anyway I couldnt find it. Turns out Lakeside isnt even open (closes at 2pm?) But for future use Im not even sure what's listed on the new website.

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

I might be sticking my neck out here, but as ever, people can agree or disagree. But Im not entirely in agreement with question 14 which I must hve missed yesterday.

For me, the closed season is the closed season. Once my van is made safe, drained down, I dont see it again until March. I think its unrealistic to ask about owners having more things to do. The cost of staffing, and running a venue is bound to come back on ownrs anyway -- but swimming pools is totally unrealistic. They too will have had their heating system drained down or winterised? The cost of taking extremely cold water to to body temp is extremely high. I think the sales dept. offering a few weeken activities just before we officially open in March, is as much as we will see.

I just think we might be seen to lose credibility?

Re: Questions for My Visit to Hemel on 26th March

The thing is, I would rather pay than have it free and never be able to get on it.........I couldnt manage to book on last year at all because it was booked up so fast. (Well it wold be with just a dozen or so spaces woudlnt it?)

More frustrating was that becaue there was no charge, half those booked on didnt even turn up, on the day.....owners not always the most courteous of people.
