Using the Forum on Mobile Devices

Post by Keith » 4 years ago

I have made a change to the way the forum is displayed and works on mobile devices.

I would be grateful for your comments and feedback on these changes. All you need to do is to use a mobile device to access the forum, you do not need to change any settings; the forum should detect that you are using a mobile device and make all the necessary changes automatically.

The forum will never work on a mobile device in the same way that other social sites such as Facebook do, but I want to make it as 'Mobile Friendly' as possible.

Please give it a go and let me know what you think.
Keith

Just tried it Keith, its a vast improvement on the normal view on my mobile. No need to expand the pages to be able to read them.
Thanks.
Brian

Just tried it today. Much easier, no need to resize pages and also seems a lot faster to load.

The only way I can do that, at present, is to allow the forum 'Home Page' to open first and that would NOT be in the this new format. You would still have to expand the view of that page and then the new layout would be activated when you switch to the actual forum.

I think that would put new users off, because it is first impressions that count, many would not go from the 'difficult' home page to actually visit the forum.

The recent software upgrade for the forum should make mobile use even easier now.

Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Would be good for me if the spacing on the quick link menu was just that little bit more . Maybe my fingers are too big !! Peter
